Dear Member,

You are cordially invited to our 49th Annual General Meeting. This meeting provides an opportunity for members to meet directors and staff and to hear what we have been doing throughout the year to improve our service to you. It is also a good opportunity for us to listen to your views on where you see the credit union going in the future.

At the AGM a draw will take place for 10 prizes: 5 x £50, 5 x £25

Members must be present at the time of the draw.

To celebrate A-B-C Credit Unions 50th Anniversary we will be holding a draw on 10th December 2018. 50 Prizes: 20 x £50, 30 x £25

Draw for Minors: 10 x £25 Smyths Toy voucher

Winners will be notified by phone or letter.

New Volunteers Needed!

A-B-C Credit Union is asking you to volunteer for positions on the Board of Directors and/or Supervisory Committee. This is a rewarding opportunity for you as a member of A-B-C to help decide the future direction of your credit union. A-B-C Credit Union will provide training and normally the board and/or supervisory committee only meet once per month. Nominating Committee Report 2018

In accordance with Rule 50 of the standard Rules of Credit Unions two members of the Board of Directors end their term of office. The following members, being eligible, offer themselves for re-election under this rule and have been so nominated – Maureen Magill and Des Brennan.

One other director has retired, Kathryn Duggan. We thank her for her service over the years.

The nominating committee is seeking nominees for all three board positions.

If you are interested in becoming a director or supervisor please ask at the counter for a nomination form or complete and return to the office before the close of business( 12pm) on Saturday 1st December 2018.

Rule 73 Nominations for office – Nominations shall be in writing signed by a proposer and seconder who shall be members of the credit union and also by the nominee so as to indicate their consent, and shall be sent by hand or post so as to reach the registered office of the credit union at least 3 working days before the date of the annual general meeting. All such nominees shall be members of the credit union and of full legal age.* Nominations must be received before the close of business (12pm) on Saturday 1ST December 2018.

Rule 77 Prohibition of persons as officers – A person who is an undischarged bankrupt or who has been convicted on indictment of any offence involving fraud or dishonesty shall not :

  • Act as an office of the credit union; or
  • Directly or indirectly take part in or be concerned in the management of the credit union; or
  • Permit their name to be put forward for election or appointment to any office in the credit union. When a person holding any office in the credit union becomes ineligible by virtue of this rule to hold that office, they shall forthwith cease to hold that office.
